where soft rains fell

”Where Soft Rains Fell” was in large parts recorded and arranged in 2020 while traveling through Hokkaidō, Japan and was finally finished in October 2023. Field recordings of drift ice, geysers and other natural sound sources, as well as the recordings of electromagnetic noise, using a self-built pickup device, were set as the foundation for the three compositions part of this release. In later iterations additional layers of synthesizers and electric guitars became part of the compositions, aiming to create a deeper listening experience.

This release was supported by funding from Musikfonds e.V. Berlin for the project "Der Mandschurenkranich und Das Ende der Welt" by Peter Granser in 2020.

Marcin Et Maldoror lives and works in Stuttgart, Germany. He is active as a musician since 2004 and has since been involved in multiple releases and productions that are, off the mainstream, based in Stuttgart's hardcore punk and metal scene. The past few years have been characterized above all by his preoccupation with experimental ambient, drone and electronic music. In this context, self-built recording devices and the programming of his own audio tools have developed into an experimental working platform for him.
